Sail into the Sunset

Casual Saturday

Posted by: sailintothesunset on: March 18, 2012

A simple outfit that would work well for a day of errands or a casual day at work. Switch out the blazer for a black cardigan for a more casual look, though I personally like the blazer.

Summer Swimwear

Posted by: sailintothesunset on: March 12, 2012

With Spring Break coming up and the warm weather not too far around the corner, it’s time to find a new swimsuit. Here are several suits I have found that would be perfect for a day at the beach or laying by the beach.

ViX Swimwear 'Bia' Logo Bikini: A simple suit with some subtle details in a feminine color

VS Beach Sexy Twist Bandeau Top: I love the colors and twist of this suit not to mention the hip details on the bottoms. I'm going to buy this the first chance I get.

AE Striped Halter Bikini Top: The ruffle trim on the bottom of the top updates this classic suit.

No Heat Curls by Twisting

Posted by: sailintothesunset on: March 7, 2012

I have naturally straight hair with maybe two or three waves in it and find it extremely hard to curl my hair let alone have it hold a curl for an extended period of time. I found a video online that doesn’t use heat to curl hair and looked simple enough so I tried it out. To my surprise, it actually curled my hair, though you should be warned they are not defined curls, more of a messy curl look. I did put a bit of mousse in my hair before I twisted the sections. Here’s the video, it’s so fast and simple and worth trying one night.

First technique using rope braids.

For more refined curls, I would take a look at this video. I have not tried this technique out yet so I can’t tell you how it turned out for me but it looks pretty good to me!

Results from the second technique using foam curling rods.

Suri Cruise: World’s Most Fashionable Five Year Old

Posted by: sailintothesunset on: February 11, 2012

Suri Cruise without a doubt is the world’s most fashionable five year old. I would even go out on a limb and say she’s more fashionable than 95% of the population, regardless of age. I love her adorable, little gold heels she wears frequently and she certainly likes to wear fun colors and prints. Her little green dog bag is just as cute as could be as well. That being said, I wish I could find the clothes this five year old wears in my size.

Haute Hair: Part 3

Posted by: sailintothesunset on: February 1, 2012

Some new hairstyles for everyone to look at! The more effortless the look, the better in my book.

A simple twist goes a long way. Start out as if you were to french braid your hair, but stop after the first few crossovers. Sweet and simple.

A casual look with a cute twist to it. The braid adds details that will make this hairstyle look good from every angle.

Instead of pulling all the hair from the crown of your head back, try just pulling back the front pieces. Twist it to give it a unique touch.

Longchamp Spring 2012 Campaign

Posted by: sailintothesunset on: January 20, 2012

The Longchamp Spring 2012 campaign features Coco Rocha and Liisa Winkler by Dane Shitagi. The posing is very exaggerated, more so in some than others, but I find the photos oddly fascinating. It could also be the cute dog in some of them.
